Since 1958, Providence School has provided high-quality Christian education in Santa Barbara. In all those years, Providence has never owned its campus, yet has never waited for a great campus to be a great school.

The long and tireless search for a permanent home that would offer stability has gone on for generations—even longer than the 40 years the Israelites wandered in the wilderness while God prepared them for the Promised Land! Our Preschool and Lower School are on the attractive San Roque campus, secured by a long-term lease. Our Middle and Upper School divisions, however, are housed in aged modular buildings leased year-to-year from the Boys & Girls Club.

Providence leaders and families have continually trusted that God would someday, in his timing, provide a permanent home. We believe the college-preparatory Christian education Providence provides is an essential educational opportunity for families from Santa Barbara, Goleta, Montecito, Summerland, Carpinteria, the Santa Ynez Valley, and beyond. For generations, families have chosen Providence as their partner in developing a common set of character traits in their children: faith, fortitude, love, integrity, humility, an appreciation for freedom and liberty, and a desire to demonstrate God’s love through service to others.

Demand for Christian education is great. Applications across every division—Preschool through Upper School—are mounting. We want to ensure families have a far-reaching vision for their children’s “home away from home,” from the first day in Preschool through Senior Commencement.

After so many nomadic years, we now have an opportunity to put down roots and create a campus home for Grades 7–12 on Ortega Street in downtown Santa Barbara. Finally, we are coming home!

This attractive, thoughtfully designed campus will strengthen and enhance Providence’s already excellent academic, spiritual, and student life programs.

We are committed to meeting our $24 million fundraising goal and excited to create an enduring campus that, God willing, will welcome even more students to make Providence their home. Please join us!

With gratitude,
